Doug Chennell 1940 - 2018

In Memory - Doug Chennell 1940 - 2018

It is with great sadness that Swallowfield Fishing Club has come to learn of the news of the passing of former club secretary and Vice President Mr Doug Chenell. Doug had been a long standing and Honoury mermber of the fishing club, poossibly since its inception back in 1976. Sadly, his fight with cancer over the last few years could no longer be fought and his battle lost during the week of the18/11/18.  We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his family at this sad time.

At present we have no news of Funeral arrangements but we will hopefully have details in the near future for those wishing to pay their respects.

R.I.P Doug Chennell

Recent High Winds - Swims Under Or Near Trees

With the recent high winds form the storms crossing the country, we would please ask that members take extra care when fishing under or near trees along the Loddon and Blackwater Rivers and the Decoy Pond. Initial inspections have noted that tree limbs are scattered around the bases of various trees as expected but some have branches that are broken but still suspened within the tree itself. These could be potentially dangerous and drop at any time, so please take care and assess your swim, not only around the bank but above your head!!!.
